Improving The Franchise Mode in NBA 2k

Sat, 14 Jun 2008 09:44:08 PDT
One thing I love about NBA 2K8 is the way the game plays on the court. One thing I hate about NBA 2k8 is, the franchise mode. The franchise mode has been stale for years now, which seems to be a trend in most next generation sports games. Companies are so focused on graphics, gameplay, and online play that they neglect an entire sect of their...

Beware the military-journalism complex

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 07:52:20 PDT
Beware the military-journalism complex You know all those retired generals and other military officers we've all seen on TV these past few years, explaining events in Iraq? Turns out that most of them were, or have been, more or less on the Pentagon's payroll. Few if any of these connections have been made public, but the New York Times sued to see 8,000 pages of records, and this is what they found. Excerpt: Records and interviews show how the Bush administration has used its control over acc

How to explain…

I recently posted at my wornoutwoman blog about my son’s favorite hermit crab, Larry Lee Lenson, passing on. This post has sparked some interesting comments on how different people handling explaining death to children. This is something none of us ever want to experience, but the circle of life does go on. We will eventually have to explain to our little ones why his favorite pet is gone spiritually and not physically. We will have to eventually comfort them when a loved one dies. It promp

Rove Clock: It’s Been 75 Days Since Fox Has Failed To Identify Rove As McCain Advisor

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 07:55:26 PDT
Today on Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace brought on Karl Rove to analyze the 2008 election. Peddling Rove as an source of independent analysis, Wallace introduced him as “the architect of two presidential victories and now a Fox News analyst.” Wallace failed to mention that those victories (for President Bush) were Republican victories, or that Rove has spent his entire life working exclusively for Republicans. Unsurprisingly, Rove showed two electoral maps predicting heavy general electi

Arsenal midfielder: ‘I believe that Arsenal are my future - probably’

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 07:58:49 PDT
The business end of the football season is interesting for many reasons. You’ve obviously got the Premier League title race and relegation battle to be decided, the Champions League semi-finals and the question of who will be promoted from the Championship. However, this is also the time when many high-profile players (Lampard, Henry, Gerrard, Barry) get linked with a move away from their current club. Another one is Cesc Fabregas, Arsenal’s jewel in the crown and supposedly happy to stay at t

How Do the Ex’s Feel About Ashlee and Pete’s Engagement?

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 07:59:16 PDT
So with the news of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’s engagement, it makes me wonder what the ex’s are thinking. I’m sure Ryan Cabrera is doing fine, since he’s been seeing Riley Keough. He’s probably happy for Ash and looking forward to his own wedding one day. If Pete Wentz’s ex-girlfriend Jeanae White past behavior is any clue, she’s probably not as happy for the twosome. Remember how she sold some of Pete’s old clothing on eBay this past January? Tacky. (Plus did you see her feet in one of t

Safari users to be blocked from using PayPal

Sun, 20 Apr 2008 08:00:45 PDT
In the last year or two, I’ve started doing a lot of my monetary transactions via a little site called PayPal. I’m sure that if you’ve used eBay at all, you have yourself a PayPal account. Unfortunately for Mac users, if you use Safari as your primary browser, you’re going to have some issues accessing the site. If you didn’t know, Safari doesn’t include any anti-phishing technologies, unlike FireFox and IE. PayPal frowns very much upon this, and has decided that they will soon begin blockin

I made it out of Keepsake with NOTHING! We will not talk about the thread though. I bought lots and lots of thread but you can't beat getting Superior threads at wholesale. I don't have a wholesale license so these shows are the only times that I buy thread. They keep coming out with fantastic colors. Jud
